‘Bin your gum’ campaign 2010
The 2010 campaign continued to highlight the penalties people can receive if they drop their gum litter. The bright new illustrative style proved effective, producing some very encouraging results.
The adverts
11 local authorities ran the adverts between August and September, mainly in outdoor media sites such as roadside posters, lamppost banners, phone kiosks, bus sides, digital escalator panels and digital ad vans.
Campaign message
The message clearly cut through to the target audience, with 69% of people saying that the ads make them want to change their behaviour.
Gum counts
50% overall reduction of gum litter.
